Application Hints!

Applying to Jobs: Most job applications are online (e.g. Handshake, Oregon EdZapp, SchoolSpring, and NEOgov). Applicants are required to upload copies of their transcripts which typically note your transfer in credits (College Now and AP), so would not require additional transcripts. The online applications are time consuming to set up but once you have completed one for a district, the system typically keeps your data and you are able to just update it for different job postings.

For employers, photocopies are generally fine for everything except degree and licensure program transcripts. Employers have typically not requested test scores because your license indicates that you have passed.

Job Fairs Preparation: We suggest you:

  • Dress for a teacher job interview.
  • Bring at least 25 copies of your resume and maybe some business cards (UOTeach Business Card Template).
  • Start your SchoolSprings /TalentEd online applicant portfolio.

License Application: When you apply for your license, you’ll need official copies that show any degrees that are bachelor’s level or higher, plus their UOTeach coursework. The COE Licensure Coordinator, Richelle Krotts will be talking through the licensuring steps at an all UOTeach meeting Spring term.

EdTPA:  Since edTPA is also an assessment, we recommend you plan on keeping copies of test scores in case employers want them. In the past, EdTPA has not requested test scores because your license indicates that you have passed – this could change.
